Weekend Whoop!

Wow. The past 48 hours or so have been a little over the top ridiculous. Hardcore.

Friday: It felt so weird to go to class when all my classes Thursday got canceled, but I buckled up and went. In my international law and politics class we'd been holding a moot court session that week and that day the final judgment was delivered -- my team (Mexico) won! Whoooop! I drove home that night and had dinner at Five Guys (if you have a Five Guys burger place near you GO NOW) and saw Date Night with Mr. Man. Whoooop! Tina Fey and Steve Carrell really should just act in comedies together all the time because they're pretty hysterical. Check it out!

Saturday: This is when all the ridiculous starts. I got up at like 8 that morning to help my parents pack, since they're moving to Colorado and all. That afternoon, a friend of mine and I stumbled upon a really awesome art festival going on in Ft. Worth (yeah, number 63, DONE) so we had lunch down there and walked around for a few hours, just enjoying all the wonderful artwork. Whoooop! THE saddest thing happened though! There was this guy with these huge, absolutely beautiful glass sculptures, and someone knocked one over and it shattered. The artist started crying immediately. It was awful. :( tssss. That night was my sorority's (I know, I don't talk about it much -- I'm in a sorority!) formal, which is the whole reason I went home to begin with. Whoooop! Mr. Man didn't come with me because his cousin was getting married that night, but I had a lot of fun anyways. Like an IDIOT though, I didn't take my camera. Que lame, right? So this one picture of the flowers that I got with my phone is the only photo I have. Feel free to make fun of me.

Sunday: The formal ended at about midnight. When I was on my way home, Mr. Man called me and was like "Dude, dude, they're imploding the old Cowboy's stadium at 7 am. I'm on my way back from Austin, I'll pick you up at 1:30, we're SO going and to get good parking we have to be there by 2." So, we went. And as you can guess we got no sleep. Absolutely none. But it was so, so, SO awesome. I mean, how many times do you get to see a building you've watched your high school football team play in implode? NOT VERY OFTEN! Whoooop! I have video, but it's crappy quality and I can't get it to upload. One of our friends that got a better video is posting his on FB/YouTube though, so I'll link up when I can. :) We had breakfast/lunch and hung out until 2 pm (aka, took a two hour nap), then I drove back to Aggieland, albeit after getting some bad news from the family. That's going to be have to be it's whole on post though. tssssss.... And I am totally running on two hours of sleep right now... UGH.

Next weekend, I'm actually staying in Aggieland! First time in weeeeks. Haha. Be impressed!

How was your weekend? Don't forget, you should TOTALLY participate, Aggie or not. Whoooop! is for awesome things that happened, while tssss is for lame things that t-sips do. :) Leave a comment with a link to your blog post if you do.

Weekend Whoop!

First of all, Happy Easter everyone! To those of you who celebrated, I hope you had a great day with family/friends/whoever, to those that didn't, I hope you had a wonderful Sunday doing whatever. :)

Thursday: I used my morning off to write the Change in Direction blog post that has people all a flutter. Check it out to get a new link to a new blog. After class, I drove home for a wonderful three-day weekend with the family and friends. That night, Mr. Man surprised me with tickets to the midnight premiere of Clash of the Titans, which was pretty awesome. Whoooop! Check it out!

Friday: I spent the whole morning running errands, among them finally finally finally getting around to quitting Mary Kay like I said I would months ago. Whoooop! I went and got snocones with a few friends that afternoon, which was fun. They hated me for taking pictures though.

It was really really sunny out so some of the pictures came out totally washed out-looking. Sad.Gotta love funny faces pictures. :) Whoooop!

That night, I hung out with Mr. Man and two of our close friends from high school, one of which is in Aggieland with me and the other of which escaped off to California like I hope to someday do. We made a late night IHOP run, which seems to be becoming a habit for me. :)

Saturday: Had lunch and went shopping with my friend Sydney, yes, the one that's engaged. It was great seeing her. Mr. Man took me out to a fancy dinner that night, which was really awesome. That boy makes me laugh so much. Whoooop! After that he had to go do something, so the two girls from the previous picture and I had a girl's night. We saw The Last Song, which was good but made me feel kind of stabby. Not because I disliked it, but because I'm been writing a story super similar to it and now I have to scrap it. Tssssss. But it is good, so go see it. :) We made an IHOP run that night too and became the best table ever, because we had a crapton of Easter candy with us and were giving it out to the waiters. Yes, Easter pinatas were involved. Whoooop!

Sunday: Easter! My family and friends had a big brunch together, then at noon I left to go hang out with Mr. Man for a last hour before I had to leave. :( He's still in the market for a new car, so we went and walked around a few car lots and chatted a bit. It was nice to get some relaxed alone time. Whoooop! I then drove back to Aggieland, and somehow got stupidlost on my way, which makes about zero sense since I make this drive at least twice a month. I have no idea how I managed it. Tsssss. There's also some drama going down tonight, which is not. fun. Bigger tsssssss.

Don't forget, you should TOTALLY participate, Aggie or not. Whoooop! is for awesome things that happened, while tssss is for lame things that t-sips do. :) Leave a comment with a link to your blog post if you do.

Weekend Whoop!

Okay, back to the Weekend Whoop this week! Get excited! Don't forget, you should TOTALLY participate, Aggie or not. Whoooop! is for awesome things that happened, while tssss is for lame things that t-sips do. :)

Friday: I got out of class at 10:20 (my 2:30 class was cancelled) which was AWESOME. I spent the most of the day running errands and lame things, but I got to study with my good friend Mollee that afternoon for a while. That night, she and I went to a shindig with a bunch of friends, which ended in a 2 am IHOP run, which, let's be honest here, is always the best way to end a night. (That's Tim being a messy eater. He's fun.) Whoooop!

Saturday: In the morning, I went to the gym and had a really tough workout that I'm still pretty stinkin' sore from. But that was awesome. Whoooop! I then drove up to Waco to see Mr. Man. He had the day off, so we had lunch together and went for a walk down by the Brazos River. (That is the river that runs through Waco, right?) We totally walked across a bridge that we definitely weren't supposed to and almost died in the process, but I've got this new-found need to try everything once, so I was all for it. Whoooop!

You can't tell in this photo, but he's telling me to stop taking pictures and hurry up. We see how that went. :)
I have this new obsession with photos of people walking away from the camera. I'm not sure why, but I dig it. What do y'all think? These ducks were AWESOME. They let us get close enough to touch them. They were so cute, like a couple. :)

That night, I also went and saw Bounty Hunter with a few friends. It was kind of predictable, but really good, see it if you get the chance. :)

Sunday: Ugh. Studying all day long. I have two tests this week, so it had to happen. It sucked though. :( tssssss. That's about all I've got for you for today.

How was your weekend? :)

Weekend Whoop!

Because I'm on Spring Break, I feel really weird doing the Weekend Whoop post today because it's like... I have seven more days of weekend! But, alas, I shall press on. :)

Don't forget: Whoooop! = RED ASS AWESOME EVENTS.
Tsssss = Lame events that sound like things t-sips would do.

Friday: I decided to start my break off with a bang, apparently, because I got kicked out of my one and only class that day. I have never been kicked out of a class before in my life. Walked out, yes, a few times. But kicked out? Whoa. I met Mr. Man back home for a late lunch though, and we walked around the park and flew a Buzz Lightyear kite that we randomly found! It was awesome! I wish I had photos but I left my camera in the car and forgot. :( That evening, around sunset though, I decided to take Stella (my Rebel XSi) out because she hadn't gotten to play in a long time. We took a walk through a local park. :)
Saturday: That morning, my mom forced me into some spring cleaning, but that afternoon, I went to go hang out with Mr. Man. We got ice cream for lunch and then played with his fur-baby, Marley. And more pictures came out of that!
They wrestled. I watched. And laughed. :)
That last one is possibly my favorite picture of him of all time. Also, that's a shirt I gave him. I feel special knowing he wears it. :)

Sunday: More spring cleaning all morning, then another walk with Marley in the park that afternoon. Very relaxing. Mommy and I went shopping after I left Mr. Man's, and now I'm here. How was your weekend?

Don't forget -- go tell me what you want to see!

So, this weekend was pretty relaxing and full of shopping. It was wonderful. And it totally started on Thursday.

Thursday: After I got out of class at 5, I ran home, took a quick shower, got ready and dressed up super fast, and went for a Girl's Night Out to a cute local nice restaurant/bar and had a Dessert Night! Have you ever had one? It's where you go to a restaurant and just order desserts. It's pretty freaking fun! And delicious! Whoooop! After that though, I had to write a paper. :( tssssss!

(That's myself, Julie, and Stephanie.)

Friday
: Decided to have a Valorie-Only Night. Turned off my phone, read, wrote some, took a relaxing bath. Ended up going to sleep early. It was great. Whoooop!

Saturday: Woke up early, headed to the rec, then went to a coffee shop and wrote some more. My mom's good friend and her daughter were in town for a swim meet so I got to have lunch with them and go shopping for a few hours. Whoooop! After that, I hung out with the room mate and a few of our friends. We watched part of Snow White and The Incredibles and made homemade milkshakes that were stinking delicious. Whoooop! I got some really bad news that night though. Well, not so much bad news as I discovered that one of my ex-boyfriends who I really don't like nor want much of anything to do with still has my phone number and won't leave me alone, despite how many times I've threatened a restraining order if he ever contacts me again. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to block a number on the iPhone and I really don't feel like paying AT&T $10 a month to help me ignore his phone calls/texts.

Sunday: Got up early again (tsssss), did some homework and a Bible study, then went to Round Rock to meet my mom and go shopping. We shopped for like five hours and I got a new wallet at Coach (courtesy OF Coach: my last wallet ripped and they couldn't fix it, so they gave me $50 for a new one instead)! It was pretty darn cool. Whoooop! Came home, went to my Bible study meeting with the girls and just hung out and had fun. Whoooop! After that though? More homework. LAME!

And that was my weekend. How was yours? :)

Weekend Whoop!

I spent this past weekend at home, which was just wonderful. I saw the wonderful Mr. Man every single day (including Thursday, even though that's *technically* not the weekend), which was awesome. I also got to see my family, which is always great because we're surprisingly close. Whoooop!

Friday: Mr. Man was already at work when I got home (tsssss), but I had dinner with one of my best friends from high school at a great Italian place (where the host weirdly addressed us as "womans." Uhh?) then went out to coffee. After that, Mr. Man and I went out to see the crazies, which is CRAZY. (No pun intended?) Though I love horror movies AND beat Mr. Man for once at calling the ending, I was "being a big baby" about going home alone (WHAT IF THE ZOMBIES HAD GOTTEN ME, MR. MAN? WHAT THEN?) so we went back to his apartment and watched Futurama reruns until 6 am. Whoooop!

Saturday: Running on pretty much no sleep, I had a crazy busy day. My mommy and I went shopping, I got a hairtastrophe cut (more on that later -- major tssss), I studied some (gasp!), then I went to a birthday party for my mom's friend's dad who turned 70 and is probably one of the funniest old men I've ever met in my life. Whoooop! After that, The Cynical Optimist, Mr. Man, and I went to a party one of our good friends from high school was throwing about 45 minutes away. It was a slightly drama-filled night, but all in all, I had fun. Whoooop! Mr. Man and I had an emotional talk afterward about crap that went down when we broke up for a while and about the future, but it was good to get all that out there. :) We continued our Futurama marathon until about 7 am when I realized that OH HEY LOOK THE SUN IS COMING UP I SHOULD GET SOME SLEEP.

Sunday: Slept until eleven, had lunch with Mr. Man then hit the road back to Aggieland. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY I scratched another thing off my list of 101 in 1001! In case you guys hadn't noticed (though I don't know HOW that's possible), I blogged EVERY SINGLE DAY this month. And that, everyone, was #47! Haha! I feel successful, even if I used the shortest month of the year to do this (STFUDON'TJUDGEME)! Whoooop! The rest of today was devoted to homework and tests though. I have two midterms coming up this week... eek! tsssss.

Friday: Finished the obnoxious amount of tests I had last week (though I definitely tried to write my essay in the same style I write my blog entries... HELLO, FAILING GRADE), then went to Houston to see my lovely friend The Cynical Optimist (by the way, if you haven't clicked on the link to read her blog yet, even though I've mentioned her DOZENS OF TIMES YOU LAZY BUMS, you should). And we had a part-ay. Good times. Whoooop! I also got to sort-of meet my penpal from AUSTRALIA, Zoe MacLean, though it wasn't so much 'meet' as 'exchange emails and addresses.' EXCITING, RIGHT? Yeah, I know, you're jealous. Thanks, Teacups in Peony. :) Whoooop!

Saturday: The Cynical Optimist and I hung out at Agora, a really delicious coffee/wine bar, then went thrift store shopping. :) Hello, favorite things ever. Whoooop! I had to drive back to CS that afternoon though, which was NOT COOL. Tsssss! But I got to hang out with a bunch of people that I normally don't get to because they all go to school back home but were in CS for the weekend, so it evened out. :) I did get some weirdbad (yeah, weirdbad, all one word. Go with it.) news that night though. That'll have to be it's own post later though.

Sunday: I studied all morning, (tsssss), but then I went to lunch with aforementioned friends-from-back-home at a really good Sisch-Kabob (SP?!) place that I had never tried, but should have tried much sooner. We hung out, I found out that one of them has had a secret girlfriend for three years (UHM, WHAT?! I'm still in shock), it was all around good. Whoooop! Unfortunately, Mr. Man's dog ran away this afternoon, so we're a little bummed about that. Tsssss! I'm hoping she turns up though. I also always get together with some girls from Phi Lamb at 8 on Sundays for a Bible study, which I am LOVING. If you're looking for one to do, try Bad Girls Of The Bible, by Liz Curtis Higgins. It's a fun read, and very enlightening. :)

How were y'all's weekends?

Weekend Whoop!

I'm thinking about making the Weekend Whoop! a weekly tradition. A way to bring a little bit of Aggieland to the blog. What do y'all think?

So, this weekend started a little early for me -- Thursday. But not for a good reason. :( I was super stinkin' sick and couldn't even get out of bed for class on Friday. Tsssssss. But, the ever awesome Mr. Man came in to town on Friday and nursed me back to health so that by Saturday I was ready to LIVE again. Whoooop!

On Saturday Mr. Man and I went out and grabbed lunch and saw the movie The Wolfman, which is pretty darn good. Check it out. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, but there's a pretty good twist in it. Mr. Man and I always compete to see who can call the ending of a movie first, and I'm ashamed to say he called it first this time, but there's always next time. Challenge: Can YOU call the twist? That night, we went to a birthday party for a friend, where we ate pizza and sang karaoke. Yup, #80 done! Whoooop! We went out dancing after that and had a bunch of fun. Every time I don't go dancing for more than a week, I forget how much I enjoy myself when I do go out, so I'm glad I went. I'm getting pretty decent at country-western dancing too! It's exciting! Whoooop!

Sunday, well, it was Valentine's, and while I normally moan and groan about how stupid that holiday is, I had better things to say this year. :) Whoooop!

How were y'all's weekends?

Weekend Whoop!

This weekend started early for me, on Thursday. It was necessary -- school was being stupid and stressful (not that it WON'T be stressful this week, but whatever), and job applications (ie job rejections) are taking their toll, so Mr. Man and I drove up to Waco that night for dinner and a movie. Dinner was all right (Fazoli's was not on their game that night), but the movie was pretty good. We saw Ninja Assassin, and let me tell you, if you're in the mood for action/gore with almost no plot and a muscular man, this is the movie for you. Also, moms, if you really think your precious son needs to take up jiu jitsu/karate and/or be obsessed with ninjas/jump around the house acting like a maniac for a few weeks, this movie is a must-see. Mr. Man for one is definitely claiming that he's going to train to be a ninja warrior now. (I think he's mostly joking.) Seeing him was the best part of that night. I knew what I was getting into with a long-distance relationship, and that we wouldn't be able to see each other every single week, but getting to see him so soon after getting together and knowing that I get to see him again on Friday, makes getting through my crazy hectic week so much easier. Whoooop!

Friday: I finished out classes, then went and saw Dear John with my roomie and a friend of ours. Wow, that movie was incredible. Whooop! The storyline was very powerful and sweet and made it so easy to see how transformational love can be on a person. Definitely see it, but be warned -- it is so not a first date movie. If your man knows you cry in movies, then you're a little safer, because even I cried, and I never cry in movies.

Saturday: I worked out, went shopping with the roomie and the same girl we saw Dear John with, studied with a friend from high school, then came home and watched American Dreamz (which has to be one of the weirdest movies I've watched to date) with those two girls and Kassie! Then we played Apples to Apples, and well, you know the rest of the story. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot, so all was good. Whooooop!

Sunday: Church, pancakes, coffee. This needs to become a tradition. Whoop! Unfortunately, because my weekend started so early, it was over pretty early too -- I made my To-Do List for the week and it spans two columns of an 8.5X11 inch sheet of paper. It's also color-coded, I thought you other OCD people might appreciate that. :) I should probably get onto finishing it... Tssssss!
